Telling my partner I lost my job - 21 weeks in

My spouse does not know yet that I was let go as a home health aide. This is my first time dealing with any of this. I feel ashamed even though the company cut a whole team. What did you say?

Shame is common after a layoff even when it is not your fault. Saying it out loud to one person first helped me.
