Telling my partner I lost my job

I was laid off 23 weeks ago and have not told my family because I do not want them to worry. There are 5 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I feel ashamed even though the company cut a whole team.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 3 months ago, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
