Telling my partner I lost my job - 15 weeks in

I have been leaving the house at the same time each day so my kids do not notice. I have been trying to stay organised about it. I feel ashamed even though the company cut a whole team. How did you handle it?

Shame is common after a layoff even when it is not your fault. Saying it out loud to one person first helped me.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
