Telling my partner I lost my job

My spouse does not know yet that I was let go as an accounts payable clerk. I do not usually post, so bear with me. I feel ashamed even though the company cut a whole team. How did you handle it?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
