Should I negotiate my severance? - first time posting

I was offered 10 weeks of severance after 10 years as a paralegal, and I have a few days to sign. There are 10 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. There is a non-disparagement clause. Did anyone negotiate and succeed?

Read the release carefully. Mine included things I did not expect, like a non-compete.

Ask for the offer in writing and do not sign on the spot. A day or two to think is normal.
