Should I negotiate my severance? - first time posting

My manager said the package is final, but the letter gives me time to review. I do not usually post, so bear with me. It includes health coverage for a couple of months. Should I see a lawyer?

Read the release carefully. Mine included things I did not expect, like a non-compete.

Ask for the offer in writing and do not sign on the spot. A day or two to think is normal.
