Should I negotiate my severance? - any advice?

I was offered 4 weeks of severance after 4 years as a pharmacy technician, and I have a few days to sign. Any experience at all would help. There is a non-disparagement clause. What did you ask for?

Ask for the offer in writing and do not sign on the spot. A day or two to think is normal.

Read the release carefully. Mine included things I did not expect, like a non-compete.
