Should I negotiate my severance? - any advice?

I was offered 10 weeks of severance after 10 years as a graphic designer, and I have a few days to sign. Any experience at all would help. I do not want to leave money on the table. What did you ask for?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
