Should I negotiate my severance?

I was offered 12 weeks of severance after 12 years as an office manager, and I have a few days to sign. I worked as an office manager before this. I do not want to leave money on the table.

An hour with an employment lawyer cost me a small fee and made me feel much safer about signing.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 13 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
