Should I negotiate my severance? - 21 weeks in

I was offered 8 weeks of severance after 8 years as a call-centre agent, and I have a few days to sign. It includes health coverage for a couple of months. What did you ask for?

Read the release carefully. Mine included things I did not expect, like a non-compete.

Ask for the offer in writing and do not sign on the spot. A day or two to think is normal.
