Severance offer, what should I ask for? (Toledo)

I was offered 5 weeks of severance after 5 years as an insurance claims processor, and I have a few days to sign. Any experience at all would help. I do not want to leave money on the table. What did you ask for?

Read the release carefully. Mine included things I did not expect, like a non-compete.

Ask for the offer in writing and do not sign on the spot. A day or two to think is normal.
