Severance offer, what should I ask for?, social media manager here

The company sent a severance agreement with a release of claims, and I am unsure what to do. There are 4 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I do not want to leave money on the table. Should I see a lawyer?

Ask for the offer in writing and do not sign on the spot. A day or two to think is normal.

An hour with an employment lawyer cost me a small fee and made me feel much safer about signing.
