Severance offer, what should I ask for? - first time posting

I was offered 13 weeks of severance after 13 years as an event coordinator, and I have a few days to sign. I do not want to leave money on the table. Should I see a lawyer?

An hour with an employment lawyer cost me a small fee and made me feel much safer about signing.

Read the release carefully. Mine included things I did not expect, like a non-compete.
