Severance offer, what should I ask for? after 13 years as a teaching assistant

I was offered 13 weeks of severance after 13 years as a teaching assistant, and I have a few days to sign. I am in Albuquerque, in case local advice matters. It includes health coverage for a couple of months. Should I see a lawyer?

An hour with an employment lawyer cost me a small fee and made me feel much safer about signing.
