Severance offer, what should I ask for? after 10 years as a customer-service rep

I was offered 10 weeks of severance after 10 years as a customer-service rep, and I have a few days to sign. There is a non-disparagement clause. What did you ask for?

Ask for the offer in writing and do not sign on the spot. A day or two to think is normal.

Read the release carefully. Mine included things I did not expect, like a non-compete.
