Severance offer, what should I ask for? - 21 weeks in

I was offered 12 weeks of severance after 12 years as an electrician's helper, and I have a few days to sign. I am in Charlotte, in case local advice matters. There is a non-disparagement clause. Should I see a lawyer?

An hour with an employment lawyer cost me a small fee and made me feel much safer about signing.
