Severance offer, what should I ask for? - 10 months and counting

I was offered 9 weeks of severance after 9 years as a barista, and I have a few days to sign. I am in Portland, in case local advice matters. It includes health coverage for a couple of months. What did you ask for?

Ask for the offer in writing and do not sign on the spot. A day or two to think is normal.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
