Severance agreement arrived, need a second opinion - what worked for you?

I was offered 7 weeks of severance after 7 years as an office manager, and I have a few days to sign. There is a non-disparagement clause.

Read the release carefully. Mine included things I did not expect, like a non-compete.

Ask for the offer in writing and do not sign on the spot. A day or two to think is normal.
