Severance agreement arrived, need a second opinion (Sacramento)

I was offered 16 weeks of severance after 16 years as a home health aide, and I have a few days to sign. It includes health coverage for a couple of months. Should I see a lawyer?

Ask for the offer in writing and do not sign on the spot. A day or two to think is normal.

Read the release carefully. Mine included things I did not expect, like a non-compete.
