Severance agreement arrived, need a second opinion, retail manager here

I was offered 8 weeks of severance after 8 years as a retail manager, and I have a few days to sign. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. I do not want to leave money on the table. Should I see a lawyer?

Ask for the offer in writing and do not sign on the spot. A day or two to think is normal.
