Severance agreement arrived, need a second opinion - first time posting

The company sent a severance agreement with a release of claims, and I am unsure what to do. I have been trying to stay organised about it. I do not want to leave money on the table. What did you ask for?

An hour with an employment lawyer cost me a small fee and made me feel much safer about signing.

Ask for the offer in writing and do not sign on the spot. A day or two to think is normal.
