Severance agreement arrived, need a second opinion - any advice?

I was offered 17 weeks of severance after 17 years as a project coordinator, and I have a few days to sign. It has been a long 20 weeks. It includes health coverage for a couple of months. Did anyone negotiate and succeed?

Ask for the offer in writing and do not sign on the spot. A day or two to think is normal.
