Severance agreement arrived, need a second opinion - 8 months and counting

I was offered 3 weeks of severance after 3 years as a paralegal, and I have a few days to sign. I have been trying to stay organised about it. There is a non-disparagement clause. What did you ask for?

Read the release carefully. Mine included things I did not expect, like a non-compete.

Ask for the offer in writing and do not sign on the spot. A day or two to think is normal.
