Severance agreement arrived, need a second opinion - 6 weeks in

I was offered 4 weeks of severance after 4 years as a school bus driver, and I have a few days to sign. I have been trying to stay organised about it. I do not want to leave money on the table. What did you ask for?

Read the release carefully. Mine included things I did not expect, like a non-compete.

Ask for the offer in writing and do not sign on the spot. A day or two to think is normal.
