Severance agreement arrived, need a second opinion - 6 months and counting

I was offered 12 weeks of severance after 12 years as a bookkeeper, and I have a few days to sign. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. There is a non-disparagement clause. Did anyone negotiate and succeed?

Read the release carefully. Mine included things I did not expect, like a non-compete.

An hour with an employment lawyer cost me a small fee and made me feel much safer about signing.
