Severance agreement arrived, need a second opinion - 2 months and counting

I was offered 11 weeks of severance after 11 years as a retail manager, and I have a few days to sign. I do not usually post, so bear with me. I do not want to leave money on the table. What did you ask for?

An hour with an employment lawyer cost me a small fee and made me feel much safer about signing.

Ask for the offer in writing and do not sign on the spot. A day or two to think is normal.
