Severance agreement arrived, need a second opinion - 13 months and counting

I was offered 10 weeks of severance after 10 years as a teaching assistant, and I have a few days to sign. I have been trying to stay organised about it. I do not want to leave money on the table. What did you ask for?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.

Read the release carefully. Mine included things I did not expect, like a non-compete.
