Plant closing and notice period questions - first time posting

Our team was told about a closure date that is 13 weeks away. I am in Chicago, in case local advice matters. I do not know if I should start looking now or wait for severance news. Should I stay for the bonus?

The workforce board ran a rapid-response session for us with résumé help and information on benefits. Ask if yours will.

I stayed for the retention bonus and looked for work on the side. It cushioned the gap.
