Plant closing and notice period questions - first time posting

I received a formal notice about a mass layoff at my workplace. It has been weighing on me all week. They offered a retention bonus for people who stay. Should I stay for the bonus?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 12 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.

I stayed for the retention bonus and looked for work on the side. It cushioned the gap.
