Plant closing and notice period questions (Baltimore)

I received a formal notice about a mass layoff at my workplace. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. Some colleagues are already leaving.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
