Plant closing and notice period questions after 6 years as a customer-service rep

Our team was told about a closure date that is 23 weeks away. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. They offered a retention bonus for people who stay. Has anyone been through this?

I stayed for the retention bonus and looked for work on the side. It cushioned the gap.
