Plant closing and notice period questions after 15 years as a mechanic

Our team was told about a closure date that is 23 weeks away. This is my first time dealing with any of this. I do not know if I should start looking now or wait for severance news.

Write down key dates and keep copies of the notice. Mine helped when a question came up later.
