Plant closing and notice period questions - 8 weeks in

Our team was told about a closure date that is 8 weeks away. I worked as a bookkeeper before this. I do not know if I should start looking now or wait for severance news. Has anyone been through this?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
