Making savings last after losing my job - what worked for you?

I have 8 months of savings and I am trying to stretch them after being let go as an administrative assistant. Rent and the car are the biggest costs. Did any lender work with you?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 8 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.

Subscriptions first, then the phone plan. I saved about $650 a year just by switching to a cheaper plan.
