Making savings last after losing my job (update)

I have 5 months of savings and I am trying to stretch them after being let go as a payroll clerk. I am nervous about the credit card minimums. Did any lender work with you?

Ask your utility about hardship programmes. Mine knocked a bit off my bill for several months.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
