Making savings last after losing my job (Madison)

My income dropped to unemployment benefits and my bills have not changed. I am in Madison, in case local advice matters. Rent and the car are the biggest costs. What helped the most?

Subscriptions first, then the phone plan. I saved about $450 a year just by switching to a cheaper plan.

I called the landlord and the card company early. Both offered a short payment plan, which I did not expect.
