Making savings last after losing my job (Knoxville)

We are a household of 9 and need to cut costs quickly. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. Rent and the car are the biggest costs. Did any lender work with you?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 5 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
