Making savings last after losing my job, home health aide here

I have 12 months of savings and I am trying to stretch them after being let go as a home health aide. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. Rent and the car are the biggest costs. What did you cut first?

Subscriptions first, then the phone plan. I saved about $100 a year just by switching to a cheaper plan.

Ask your utility about hardship programmes. Mine knocked a bit off my bill for several months.
