Making savings last after losing my job - first time posting

I have 8 months of savings and I am trying to stretch them after being let go as a marketing coordinator. There are 13 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. Rent and the car are the biggest costs. What helped the most?

Ask your utility about hardship programmes. Mine knocked a bit off my bill for several months.
