Making savings last after losing my job - first time posting

We are a household of 9 and need to cut costs quickly. Rent and the car are the biggest costs. What did you cut first?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 10 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
