Making savings last after losing my job

We are a household of 7 and need to cut costs quickly. Any experience at all would help. Rent and the car are the biggest costs. What did you cut first?

Subscriptions first, then the phone plan. I saved about $600 a year just by switching to a cheaper plan.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
