Making savings last after losing my job - any advice?

I have 4 months of savings and I am trying to stretch them after being let go as a copywriter. I am nervous about the credit card minimums. What helped the most?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.

Ask your utility about hardship programmes. Mine knocked a bit off my bill for several months.
