Making savings last after losing my job - any advice?

We are a household of 12 and need to cut costs quickly. I do not usually post, so bear with me. I am nervous about the credit card minimums. What helped the most?

Subscriptions first, then the phone plan. I saved about $450 a year just by switching to a cheaper plan.

Ask your utility about hardship programmes. Mine knocked a bit off my bill for several months.
