Making savings last after losing my job after 16 years as an electrician's helper

My income dropped to unemployment benefits and my bills have not changed. This is my first time dealing with any of this. Rent and the car are the biggest costs. What did you cut first?

Ask your utility about hardship programmes. Mine knocked a bit off my bill for several months.
