Making savings last after losing my job - 8 months and counting

I have 8 months of savings and I am trying to stretch them after being let go as a graphic designer. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. Rent and the car are the biggest costs.

Ask your utility about hardship programmes. Mine knocked a bit off my bill for several months.
