Making savings last after losing my job - 6 months and counting

We are a household of 17 and need to cut costs quickly. I do not usually post, so bear with me. Rent and the car are the biggest costs. What helped the most?

Subscriptions first, then the phone plan. I saved about $350 a year just by switching to a cheaper plan.
