Making savings last after losing my job - 25 weeks in

I have 7 months of savings and I am trying to stretch them after being let go as a nurse's aide. Any experience at all would help. Rent and the car are the biggest costs. What helped the most?

Ask your utility about hardship programmes. Mine knocked a bit off my bill for several months.
