Making savings last after losing my job - 2 months and counting

I have 2 months of savings and I am trying to stretch them after being let go as a quality inspector. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. Rent and the car are the biggest costs. Did any lender work with you?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 2 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
