Making savings last after losing my job - 11 months and counting

I have 11 months of savings and I am trying to stretch them after being let go as a machine operator. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. Rent and the car are the biggest costs. What helped the most?

Ask your utility about hardship programmes. Mine knocked a bit off my bill for several months.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
