Low days while job hunting after 16 years as a sales associate

I sent 16 applications and heard nothing back, and I am running low on energy. Any experience at all would help. I keep comparing myself with friends who are working. What helps you on bad days?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
